Makeup has the power to transform a person into whatever they desire. It can take you  back to the classic glamour of the 1940's with deeply ruby lips and the signature liquid lined eye or you can look like a sleek  New York model stepping out of a runway with smoky metallic eyes, amazing cheekbones and opaque lips.  A simple natural look can give you the polished professional appearance needed for work or school.  From an ethereal-shimmering glow on your wedding to a fantasy face mask for special events to tiger character makeup, to crystal studded body makeup for special events: any look can be achieved.  Creativity, inspiration and  color create boundless possibilities.  Using the unique planes and contours of a person's face, makeup artistry turns into sculpture. 

 

My Makeup Background

My makeup artistry career took shape in high school when my sister’s best friend called me to the rescue on her wedding day.  I went, hesitatingly, equipped with my Wet N’ Wild, Maybelline & no name dollar store products.  I did my first makeover and it was a hit. It occurred to me that I could do decent makeup and calm a person down at the same time.

Soon after I began freelancing for local events and brides. I worked for prestigious lines such as Chanel, YSL & M.A.C along with working on fashion shows, local movies and T.V. commercials.  In Hollywood, I received training from Oscar award winning artists at the world renowned makeup schools: Studio Makeup Academy & Westmore Academy.  I am a member of the exclusive M.A.C. Pro Artist network and continue learning the latest techniques and makeup trends.

Makeup Services at The Transformation Studio

We are the first full service makeup studio in Sugar Land: we offer beauty makeup, airbrush makeup, special effects, fantasy face & body makeup and artistic face painting. Additionally we do henna & airbrush tatoos.  Aside from individual makeovers and groups, we do makeup and beauty parties for all age groups. 

Our makeup boutique proudly features elite industry professional lines, a women of color line, fun and whimsical lines  & natural/organic makeup.

While here, do play with our in house makeup & skincare line, Chamak:  glittery, shimmery & richly hued colors inspired by beauty trends from South Asia & Middle East. The shades have been specially selected to flatter medium to dark skin tones.

The Coolest Makeup Workshops Ever

You will adore our interactive, entertaining makeup workshops and private lessons. The price of the workshops include the lesson, products being used to create the look, a chance to practice on yourself with our guidance & time for Q&A afterwards. You enjoy refreshments throughout the class and take home the class notes so you won‘t forget what you learned.  We will teach all kinds of techniques from how to create smoky eyes for your eye shape to how to find the perfect foundation & concealer, how to recreate your favorite celebrity looks and everything in between.

Makeup Lessons, Workshops & Makeup Parties

Aside from our professional series, we also teach the everyday person how to do makeup on themselves. We do private lessons, workshops & create makeup parties tailored to any age, race, or ethnicity. 

Private Lesson

• $200: $100 towards lesson, $100 credit towards makeup purchase
  
• one on one lesson, 2 hours long
• tailored to your needs, can cover any topic you would like to learn
• popular topics include: choosing proper products for skin tone/coloring, makeup basics, natural looks, work look, party/event makeup, eye makeup and corrective makeup to cover scars, blemishes and/or under eye circles
• receive a detailed handout to take home60 hours

Makeup 101 Workshop

• $50 a person, including a $20 credit towards makeup purchase
  
• at least 4 people are required, this can also create makeup party for larger groups
• 2 hours long, includes demo, practice on yourself & question/answer time
• learn all the basics about makeup, creating soft natural/work & or party looks OR we can tailor lesson to what you want to learn
• light refreshments are served (youre welcome to bring in food as well)

Eye Expert Workshop

• $75 a person, includes professional eye makeup brushes, a palette of eyeshadows with shades you pick, an eyeliner of your choice & mascara
  
• at least 4 people are required, this can also turned into a really fun makeup party for larger groups
• 2 hours long, includes demo, practice on yourself & question/answer time
• learn how to be your own eye makeup expert, how to work with your eye shape & tricks on how to do several eye makeup looks
• light refreshments served (youre welcome to bring in food as well

What Makes this Place Different

Because of my psychology background, I observed everything while I worked in the cosmetic industry. The majority of the sales associates would have poor training in actual makeup theory and leave in under a year so customers rarely had a chance to build relationships with or be taught about makeup. There were too many snobby unapproachable artists being aloof with customers. Pushy saleswomen would oversell resulting in us having to take her customers’ returned products the next day. Sales seminars would teach us to ‘create a need and then fill it’ by pointing out flaws, lowering self confidence, and then persuading customers to buy our product to fix it.  Then they would be pushed to buy at least 2 more products to satisfy the 3 items per sale transaction quota. After clients become addicted to the product, they eventually discontinued it.  

Let’s try something else shall we? The Transformation Studio is a breath of fresh air where you can delight in learning and playing with makeup.  Sound like Sephora & Ulta? Not quite. I love those stores… but there are many who become overwhelmed and confused with their gazillion product lines and the lack of artists available to help each customer. Here, you will enjoy a luxurious, relaxed environment, sip on some herbal tea and chat with friendly makeup artists whose focus is on education and customer service.
